Well, I guess it depends on how many people are allowed in the "Conversation."
Randle is not a top 3 player in the MVP conversation right now. He also shouldn't even be considered in the top 5. The grey area is when we get into the 6-10 rankings in the MVP.
Randle is having an amazing season for the Knicks and they will likely find themselves in the playoffs this season which is a huge upgrade from last season, they are clearly getting better year after year. Randle and Barret are a huge reason to this success. With all that being said, I do not believe Randle is in the MVP race and let me tell you why.
His Stats don't stack up with others in the MVP race
Yes the Knicks are 4th in the East but lets remember, after the top 3 teams in the East, it is a HUGE drop off.
THE GUYS IN FRONT OF RANDLE ARE HAVING BETTER SEASONS
Joel Embiid
Nikola Jokic
Steph Curry
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Damian Lillard
Luka Doncic
Lebron James
James Harden
Kawhi Leonard
Chris Paul (You Can Make an argument that Randle is ahead of Paul)
Randle has future MVP potential but to claim he should be in the MVP conversation is a bit of a stretch. The MVP is a full year award, not who plays best in the Month of March/April.
