NBA Awards: 75% Through The Season

Coach Of The Year: Monty Williams/Quin Snyder

Dante- This is actually very tough to answer as there are a bunch of coaches who deserve to be in this conversation, like Doc Rivers, Monty Williams, Quin Snyder and Tom Thibodeau. When I break it down, I am really stuck on who to name the COY between Williams and Snyder. Monty took a team outside of the playoffs last season to the arguably the best team in the West right now. Then you have Snyder who is leading the number one seed in the whole NBA right now. If I had to pick one, I would say Monty Williams. What he is doing with this Suns team is unbelievable. Yes they got Chris Paul and he 100% makes teams better but the fact that they are a top team in the West, makes the argument even stronger.

Runner Up: Doc Rivers

Most Improved Player of The Year: Jerami Grant

Dante- I have to go with Jerami Grant here with Christian Wood right behind him. Grant is averaging 22.6 points per game, which is 10 more points than last season. Though his 3 point % is slightly down, his free throw percentage is at an all time high.

Runner Up: Christian Wood

Rookie of The Year: Anthony Edwards

Dante- If Lamelo did not get hurt, I believe he would be named ROY, with no doubt in my mind. Getting hurt was a huge blow to Lamelo's ROY campaign. Here comes Anthony Edwards. Edwards started off the season with a small role on the team but this past month he has taken off, dunking on people and putting up 40 point games for the Wolves. He is currently averaging 18 points per game and 4 assists. he is also showing up on defense, making a case for one of the best rookie defenders on the league.

Runner Up: Lamelo Ball

Defensive Player of the Year: Ben Simmons

Dante- It is time for Rudy Gobert to hand over the DPOY crown to Ben Simmons. Nooooo, this is not my biased opinion speaking, I just believe Simmons is the best defender in the league. He shuts down all star players like Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler and Kawhi. He hold them to low scoring numbers. Simmons guards 1-5 which is very hard to do in the league now a days. Also, might I add, Simmons scored over 40 points with Rudy Gobert guarding him.......... Everyone says how bad Simmons is offensively, meanwhile he scored over 40 points on the DPOY.

Runner Up: Rudy Gobert

Most Valuable Player: Joel eMVPiid (Embiid)

Dante- Without bringing up the amount of games missed, tell me a reason why Embiid shouldn't be named the leagues MVP. He is one of the top scorers in the league. He is one of the top rebounders in the league. He is one of the best shot blockers in the league. He is currently making a case for DPOY as well. Might I add, the Sixers have the number one seed in the East and if all goes well, they will have that one seed going into the post season.

Lets address the missed game issue. Yes, he has missed many games due to injury, but at least he isn't missing games because of rest management like KD and Kawhi. If Embiid is healthy, he is out there balling every night. If Embiid misses more than 4 games the rest of the season, Jokic will win the MVP, but if Embiid plays 95% of the final quarter of the seaSon, it will be extremely difficult to give it to someone not named Joel Embiid

Runner Up: Nikola Jokic
