Game 1:
The Wegman’s Wifflebaggers defeated Is Team by a score of 3-1. An upset in the inaugural game thanks in large part to Tyler Rogers. The 6’7 right hander toed the rubber for the game’s entirety and his only blemish was when Is Team captain Steve Durr sent a ball into the stratosphere that hugged the left field line.
On top the complete game, Rogers also managed the weight of his team on offense. Hitting two home runs, including the first of the season, and driving in all 3 runs.
Game 2:
The Washington Wiffleball Team was no match for The Prospects. The score was not indicative of its final tally. While The Prospects still won by a convincing 6-1, they were in command from the first pitch.
Team Captain Clay Oberholtzer started his season hot as he clubbed 3 homers on the day, including a 3 run blast that was the nail in the coffin.
Game 3:
The Pepper Pack proved that their recipe of pitching and star power is capable of winning games. This day belonged to Casey Honigbaum. The Ithaca native clubbed 2 home runs and drove in 3, but where he really shined was on the mound. The right hander went the distance and every single out was recorded by strike out. John Vicari was the only man to manage a hit off The Pepper Pack Ace and he also made the play of the day as he robbed a homer from league commissioner Jack Powers.
Pepper Pack’s top prospect and clean up hitter Noel Foster also added a four bagger
Final score? Pepper Pack Four. The Four Horsemen. Zero
