The Pepper Pack Defeats The Is Team in a Nail Biter

This game was one chock full of emotion. This was the first time the Is Team Captain Steve Durr was at Dart Diamond since suffering a season ending knee injury. Durr, while in brace and fancy clothes, was not only there to support his team, he was there to coach. Is Team gave the Pepper Pack their toughest game of the season. Is team was only able to scratch across 2 hits, but timed them perfectly and were able to push across two scores. Following a 5th inning single, their first hit of the game, Jeremy “Germ” Putnam stepped up and clubbed a homer over the left field fence. This was a devastating blow to the Pepper Pack because it was the first runs the team had surrendered all season.

The Pepper Pack did bring the sticks though. It all started in the second inning when league commissioner, well known handsome guy and the author of this article, Jack Powers stepped up and hit an absolute laser that barely got over the right field fence. Powers finished the day with four hits.

Then up came Paul Brecht. The left hander had been struggling with the bat so far this year, but his fortunes changed today. He lifted his first home run of the season, a two run shot over the right field fence, that ended up being the game winner.

As far as pitching goes, it seems to the the same story every week. Casey Honigbaum striking out the world. While he did allow 2 runs today, he still went all six innings and struck out 17.

Is Team is now crawling their way towards to the play in tournament and Pepper Pack have put themselves in an excellent position to be the number one overall seed.
